PLOT OF THE BOOK:
The story continues from where it left in the 2nd book. Laia and Elias saves Darin from the prison. Laia gets to know that Elias has become the soul catcher . With the help of tribe nur they stay near the forest of dusk where the soul chatcher lives. Laia is to stop the nightbringer from getting the last star which will free the jinns. Darin has still not recovered from the pain of kauf. Laia has quite mastered her magical power of becoming invisible.
Then one fine day the nightbringer enters the soul catchers realm and kills the old soul chatcher sheave. This leaves Elias as the only soul catcher. And for becoming one he has to master the magic of mauth for which he will have to leave behind every human feelings in him and his friends, family, and even his love. This leaves Laia and Darin alone to stop the nightbringer. For that they go to Adisa to find the beekeeper. At last they manage to find the beekeeper who helps them. He helps Laia to get to Antium to the shrike who has the last star. On the way she travels through the forest of dusk a and ends in the jinns hands where she comes to know the truth of her mother. She comes to know who her mother is.
Devastated by the truth she continues her journey . On the other side Elias finds that some of the ghosts escaped from the waiting place and attacked the tribal camp near by. He helps the tribe and takes the ghosts back to the place. Soon he finds tat some martials are attacking the tribe. He defeats the Martials to save the tribe. By the time he returns the ghosts has already escaped the waiting place. Elias tries hard and mauth at last gets into him. Using the magic he rebuilds the walls of the waiting place. And goes behind the ghosts. The barbarians have called war upon the capital of the empire -Antium. The shrike is trying to save the city. At tat time Laia reaches the place the beekeeper told him where he has a contact who will help her. She realised who the contact was. Together they go to the city of antium.
REVIEW OF THE BOOK:
Such a mind captivating book. I could not put the book down one's I started on it. There is adrenalin rush in each page till the end. Deeply moving story by Sabaa. It reminds us that greediness and want for more power takes us no where other than to destruction. The language used keeps one reading long after the lights should have been out. The author shows us light in darkness and hope in the time of despire. The characters have the best qualities u can find .
It completely transports us to another world away from reality. It is as heart breaking as it is action packed. The ember quartet is a hunting reminder of being a human in this world.
